This is why people fail …

It’s why we often start and stop, start and stop, set goals and forget about them.

It’s because the ego doesn’t like change. In fact, the ego has a long list of reasons why things should stay the same.

Obsessed with its own survival, the ego has a preference for taking the safe route, for perceived security and comfort, and for avoiding failure and ridicule.

So when most people muster up the courage to make their lives better, the ego goes into resist mode, turns up the negative self-talk, and sabotages the whole thing.

This is why the self-help experts say you need a burning desire to do what you want to do.

Because when your ego has more reasons for keeping things the same than you have reasons for making your dream come true, you’ll lose every time.

In other words, you have to really want it.

You have to want it real bad.

If you just kinda want it, you’re toast every time.

But what does that even look like?

How does it look and feel to want something badly enough to beat the ego at its own game?

On today’s Throwback Week episode of the podcast, Eric Thomas shows you exactly what that looks like.
