This is huge.

It’s probably one of the most momentous light-bulb moments I’ve ever had in my life.

You see, there was a time when I criticized people, just because they were successful.

Despite the fact that I knew absolutely nothing about them, I assumed that they were miserable and greedy; that they thought they were better than me; that they were all snobs.

Again, I didn’t know any of these people personally. But that didn’t matter one bit. I knew who THEY were.

At some point, I had an epiphany.

It happened in 2009, a time when I was in the depths of self-sabotage, especially when it came to building my business and increasing my income.

This is what I realized …

If this business ever becomes as successful as I think it can be, I’d become one of THEM.

I’d be rich. I’d be a success.

Which meant I’d also become a miserable, greedy snob. At the very least, that’s how people would start to see me, despite not knowing anything about me.

The way I had been perceiving and condemning THEM would be the way that others would eventually view ME, if and when I became a success.

This is where a lot of people get stuck on their path to success. Most will never realize it. They’ll never become aware of this fact:

You will never have that which you condemn and criticize.

Ever. Ever.

Your subconscious mind just won’t allow it to happen. Every time you take two steps closer to success, your subconscious will freak out and push you two steps back.

And this will go on and on until you admit to yourself that the truth is that, in most cases, you know nothing about THEM. You really don’t know if this person is happy or sad, generous or greedy, saint or snob. Every judgment or criticism you make is your own projection. A way to make yourself feel like you’re better than them. How ironic.

Until you can genuinely say “good for him” or “good for her,” I can promise you that you’ll never be as successful as you want to be.

Ever. Ever.
