You know how this works.

In order to get what you want, you must be willing to give.

You have to participate in the flow of giving and receiving by becoming a more generous version of yourself.

Like the famous Zig Ziglar quote goes, “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.”

But that’s not exactly how it works.

It’s close, but it’s not the whole story.

There’s a little more to it.

You see, you can be the most giving person in the world, but if your giving only flows in one direction, you’ll stagnate the flow and become a bitter human because you never get what you want.

When most of us think of giving, we tend to think of being generous to others. But the flow of giving runs outward and inward.

Regardless of how much you give to others, the truth is you’ll only get what you give yourself.

For example…

When I started my online career on YouTube way back in 2007, for the first couple years, I gave … and gave … and gave some more, but I was still living in that smelly studio apartment.

Yeah, I was giving to others at a high level. But I hadn’t given myself permission to receive anything in return.

So I stayed broke as a joke, while becoming increasingly bitter.

This is where most people get stuck.

They don’t feel deserving of the good they desire. They don’t believe they can have it. What they want exists outside the boundaries of their self-worth. So they never get what they haven’t permitted themselves to receive.

If you think what you want — the prosperity, the home, the lifestyle, the relationship — is for someone else, but not for you, you simply won’t have it.

And if by small chance it does show up for you, you’ll find a way to push it away.

We humans have a way of making our circumstances and conditions match the level of our perceived deservingness.

We’re a funny bunch.

On today’s episode, Reverend Ike implores you to complete the circle of giving and receiving by signing your own permission slip to receive whatever it is you desire.
