You are who you hang with.

I mean, you’d be hard pressed to find a successful person who surrounds herself with the hopeless. Nor will you find the loser who keeps company with the ambitious.

As the saying goes …

You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.

According to today’s QOD speaker, there are two types of people: the nourishing and the toxic.

For some reason, we tolerate the toxic people in our lives. We allow them to tell us what we can and can’t do, to criticize our intentions to improve our circumstances, to remain in our lives.

As Les Brown says, “most people never achieve their true goals in life because they’re surrounded with too many toxic people.”

It’s time for a detox.

Because you have something special. You have greatness in you. And you deserve to have the very best people on your team. To encourage you. To support you. To expect nothing less from you than the greatness that lies within.

There were about six quotes I could have featured from today’s QOD talk. Whenever Les Brown is onstage you know you’re in store for all kinds of quotables. Take your pick!
