It doesn’t grow on trees.
There’s only so much to go around.
THEY have it, we don’t. They’re greedy, we’re not.
Money happens to you. This week’s jackpot is $1.5 billion. Let’s get a ticket or ten.
Growing up, all of the above beliefs about money were hammered into my young, impressionable mind. That money is scarce. That it’s us versus them, good against evil. That the best chance we have to ever have it is to pick 5 numbers and hope for the best, though the odds of winning are 1 in 175 million.
That was my programming, hard-coded into my brain, lying in wait, ready to sabotage any and all intentions to create a more financially-rewarding life for myself. So you can imagine what it was like to choose entrepreneurship as my occupation. The ambivalence was soul crushing, as I held a vision of earning income through pure service while simultaneously holding onto deep-rooted images of the greedy, rich people widely known as “them”.
Self-sabotage was the rule, a symptom I assumed I could stamp out with more schooling. More letters behind my name. Or maybe a brand-new marketing ninja trick. But I only got more of the same. Start. Stop. Try again. Quit. Go back to start. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Or any money at all.
It wasn’t until I read Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker that I realized I had been programmed. That it was all in my head. That the root cause of my symptoms was a complete lack of awareness of my programming, where it came from, when it happened, and how it was undermining my best efforts to pay my debts and become financially free.
But how does one delete thirty-something years of code and put an end to the sabotage?
It’s a question I struggled with for a long time. Honestly, despite all the financial success I’ve had since my discovery, I didn’t know the answer until I recorded this week’s podcast with Bob Proctor, author of The Art of Living.
Can I be honest?
I live in a beautiful home with a gorgeous view. Two cars in the garage. No credit card debt. School loans paid. Enjoy giving to charitable causes and helping my family when they need it. Employ a full-time assistant and several contractors. Work from home. Do what I love.
And I’m almost ashamed to admit to you that, until a couple weeks ago, I had no idea how it all happened. How I went from a 300-square-foot studio apartment that always smelled like fish to a 3000-square-foot house with six months of sunsets. From the king of self-sabotage to a master of getting things done. Poverty mindset to abundance. In fear of being one of “them” to being okay with just being me.
I love people and use money to better serve them. THEY use people and love money to serve themselves. There’s a difference. Choose.
I shifted my paradigm, Bob would say. I deleted the code. I literally changed my mind.
And you can, too.
In today’s debut episode of The Sessions, Bob reveals how, in one year, he went from deep in debt to earning an income he never imagined possible. Like me, he had no idea how he did it, at first. But he made it his mission to figure it all out. And after nine-and-a-half years of study, he cracked the code and is here today to share it with you.

Hi Sean!!!
God whispered to me as well. I’m changing things up. I’m bout the same age as you & I’m ready for the change. Going back to school to become a chaplain has really changed my life!!! God will put it on your heart as well what needs to be done. What a terrific change & revalation! Of course health is what got me hooked to you. I’m keeping my real estate/brokers license up as well.
This show was absolutely inspiring. No kidding..I am one of the most talented artists I know and yet I have only sold 1 painting! I KNOW I need a paradigm shift and thanks to this broadcast, I will pursue this path by ordering Bob’s book, his follow up book and anything else that I have to do. When he said age shouldn’t prevent us, he also spoke to me and I can see that this attitude will change as well. You did a great job picking your man and doing such a great interview. THANKS.
YES! Happy to help, Diane!
@ Diane: If you are so talented as an artist, why not post your website link here so people can see your art and want to buy some? The comment form even ASKS for a link to a website. Can you imagine how many people are going to read this webpage over the coming years that you could potentially sell your art to…assuming that it really is good. To make sales, you need to market market market. (And probably RAISE your prices by 10-fold…) Just saying: don’t blow opportunities and then say “I don’t know what happened!”… (My lame attempt at an ironic joke, based on content of this episode…not so funny, but at least true.)
Hope it helps you or someone else on here bring some more success!
(And to the smart-asses who are looking for a link to my website…I’m working on it. Career changing takes longer than I planned. Sigh.)
Welcome back Sean! What a great 1st session. Fascinating stuff. Can’t wait to read more from Bob. Love his voice & his enthusiasm!
Thanks, Deanne! You’re gonna love Bob’s books. I signed up for his consulting certification course today. Pumped!
Hi Sean….I was just thinking of you yesterday…as I was listening to a webinar I was thinking “Sean is really the best at these interviews”…and here you are today in my in box with Bob Proctor…and as always a great interview as confirmed by Bob himself at the end. I’m glad your back/1
Thanks so much, Elisabeth!!
Sean,
Excellent interview!…SO motivating! Great to hear you again!
Awesome way to come back Sean, I love Bob!
Welcome back, dear friend. This interview was incredible. Took copious notes. Am looking forward to sharing this information with my sons…..and am looking forward to Bob’s new book, Paradigm Shift.
Can’t wait to see what next week’s podcast brings.
Thanks for doing what you do.
Sean, congratulations on your first session of your new blog! You are off to an excellent start. Bravo!!
Welcome back Sean. Great to hear your voice again. I have been listening to Underground Wellness for a few years so it’s great that you are back. Better than ever! xxoo Cat Davis
Wonderful to have you back in the house! Loved the show! Love the direction! Loved the inspiration. I’m now one step closer to me letting go of my fears and becoming the massage/energy healer health coach that I want to be. I’ ve still got a ways to go… But I am closer. THANKS Sean and Bob!
Kim
I enjoy your interviews but was left with the feeling it was a biography on Bob Proctor. Not enough “meat” for me. I guess it was meant to be an access to a resource. But nice to have you back.
I really enjoy you as an interviewer and Im seriously glad that your interests have evolved to cover a boarder pallet. I’ve been listening to lots of summits online, mostly health based and I’m so happy to be listening to talks on the spiritual aspect, and whatever else yourve got cooking. It makes it so much more enjoyable to listen to a skilled interviewer, not to mention that you get so much more out of it as a listener. I thank you for that and you have a lovely voice too and I love that you are super interested in broadening your knowledge. Bob Proctor was great, I loved his passion. I look forward to many more excellent interviews to come. Yah!!!
Sean, this was an awesome interview.
Very nice interview and you even got bob proctor thinking how well you did your homework that’s a lot coming out of bob proctor. thanks Sean
What an incredible interview. Thank you so much.
Finally I got a chance to listen to this! I loved it, so glad we met and I am looking forward to hearing more of your work!
I loved Sean’s previous podcast, Underground Wellness and learned tons from his amazing guests about the importance of nutrition… specifically food sensitivities/allergies. However, a truly healthy life depends upon more than just nutrition. There are physical, mental, emotional and spiritual factors that all play important roles.
In “The Sessions” Sean interviews experts in all of these areas… people whose wisdom and knowledge will make your life healthier. If this is your initial introduction to Sean, please do yourself a favor and listen to the very first “session” – the one where Sean interviews Bob Proctor. It’s priceless and, as you listen, you will discover what makes this Podcast great: Sean’s preparedness and ability to pull out the best from his guest (a fact that was acknowledged by Bob Proctor at the end of the interview).
What a beautiful compliment you received at the end. Thank you for this.
Welcome back Sean!
I’m glad you took the time off, but I am also glad you are back 🙂
Really enjoyed this interview with Bob Proctor. Great stuff!
Love it! This interview came at a time where I’m entering a mid-life crisis regarding my 30 year career. I need this. I am definitely going to read more of Bob Proctor’s books….and tuning into your podcast. Great job, Sean.
I loved this one, Sean! I just got through listening to it, and it was so timely for me! I am in the process of reading “Think and Grow Rich”, and I just read the part Mr. Proctor referred to in the interview! Coincidence?? I think not!
Keep ’em comin’!!!
Oh Sean, what a great start to The Sessions! It is so good to listen to you again, and Bob Proctor agrees you are an excellent interviewer – always so well prepared, getting to the heart of the matter, so friendly and so respectful. Just love you! Welcome back on the “air”.
Sean! W O W… Words don’t cover it… Not even close. This was A M A Z I N G! Your questions and brilliance along with Bob’s incredible wisdom made this podcast absolutely shimmer. i needed this SO MUCH… Here’s why – Lyme took my ability to move from neck down, speak, read, understand language at times… At times I communicated with blinks… My seizures can last for hours… But I never gave up, I will never give up and I continue to believe against the odds and despite many doubters, that I will heal completely!!!. I have made a ton of progress but not yet gotten well. Lately I had the epiphany that I have to change how I think in order to get all the way well… So I can then use this experience to serve others. And I knew it has to be drastic. I have an amazing intuition and I keep following the God whispers. Therapy, TEDTalks, energy healing, tapping, books, bee venom therapy – you name it – if I think it will help, I do it… And I was led to your podcasts… And, Bob’s books and knowledge are my next step. I am certain of it!!!! Changing my paradigm is what I had begun but didn’t realize it. The sky’s the limit. Seriously, I know I will get well no matter what anyone says. This beyond rocked. I’ll be tuning in to every session. Please know how inspiring you are. God bless you my friend, Judy Landis Setting
I waited to listen to this, Sean. I thought all of the personal development stuff was behind me, having been around in the 90’s and having done so much personal work at that time. And I shrugged my shoulders when you began to explain your new direction.
But this was a different experience. I happen to live in Toronto, had heard all about Bob Proctor, but hadn’t paid that much attention…….I knew the Commodore Hotel where he had his first job; the area where he lives and I’ve also hitchhiked to Nova Scotia and back and so I know his angst. And the way he came through and where he is now…….Really inspiring stuff, which I will share with my spouse now. Also, will start to listen to your next guests if this caliber of interview is what I will be hearing. Thanks so much. It was truly inspiring.
Hi Sean! This is my second podcast of yours that I have heard and I learned so much. I actually left this web page open on my laptop since January but never got around to it. I’m glad I never closed this tab. The Secret is one of my favorite movies because it is an eye opener. I have been working on my dream board as well for the past couple of years and a few things have manifested so far. It’s becoming to be very clear for me that us, as human beings, do not have to know all the hows in achieving our goals but we just have to set one. I’m still learning that for myself and every time I listen to your podcasts, it’s a great reminder for me. Great job with the interview. Please keep them coming.
Sean I’ve been listening to your podcasts some time now, starting with the Underground series. You’re the best!! This interview was fun and inspiring. Thank you!! I will look for the book no doubt and look forward to your next podcasts. I’m a painter Artist and Makeup Artist (many people say very talented) in need of this Paradigm Shift!
thanks, great work. It would be nice to have a Date on the day of eache of the sessions.
