We said we would do it.

But feelings can fade. Motivation dwindles. The moment passes.

What we said we’d do doesn’t get done. They were just words with short-lived intention. As soon as the mood passed, so too did their meaning.

Many years ago, my old friend Blue shared with me the most amazing definition of integrity. He said, integrity is the diligence to do the deed after the emotion of the moment has passed. It’s doing what you said you’d do when no one is looking.

Mic drop.

While I can’t say I’m perfect when it comes to keeping my word, being mindful of Blue’s definition has been a game changer in my life. Because one of the simplest ways to raise your vibration is to keep your word, with yourself and with others.

Today on The Quote of The Day Show, motivational speaker and former college football star, Inky Johnson, shares how staying COMMITTED to his word helped him turn a career-ending injury into an invaluable gift.
