I was reading something last night.

An old school book on hypnosis. Random, I know.

The author wrote …

“In a conflict between the will and the imagination, the force of the imagination is in direct ratio to the square of the will.”

In other words, the imagination kicks the will’s ass every time.

But what does this mean?

Well, as you certainly know by now, you have something called a self-image.

Your self-image is how you see yourself, an internal representation of who you are and what you’re capable of.

So, in order to create this internal image of yourself, you have to use your imagination.

Unfortunately, many of us are using our powers of imagination against ourselves, as we accept false ideas as indisputable truths. Then we go ahead and live out these truths.

What I’m getting at here is that you can try to willpower yourself to your goals, but as long as your imagination is holding a disempowered image of who you are, no amount of will will ever defeat who you’ve been imagining yourself to be.

Back to last night’s reading. The author went on to say …

“When the will and the imagination are working together, the results are not merely the power of one plus the other one. The two working together have a force of one multiplied by the other.”

If you want to achieve the goal, you HAVE TO use your imagination to see yourself differently. Willpower alone won’t do it.

But how do you do this?

Good question. On today’s episode of The QOD Show, Benjamin Hardy shows you how it’s done.
