I got the best email this morning.
Our pal Craig Ballantyne has a pretty awesome “Morning Message” newsletter that goes out every day.
Today’s message was a quote from the legendary Og Mandino:
“I shall shape my future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man’s doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me. Or I can be lost in the maze. My choice. My responsibility. Win or lose; only I hold the key to my destiny.”
MY responsibility.
The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Just last night, during my Money Mind class, I went on a bit of a rant about how most people are totally unwilling to take responsibility for their own lives. It’s always someone else’s fault. They’re being held down by some thing.
Lost in the maze.
The crux of my rant was that the foundation for one’s own personal development, for living an extraordinary life, is to take responsibility.
Response-ability. The ability to respond to the happenings of life in a way that keeps you at the helm of your destiny.
Where there is an absence of responsibility, we find a bounty of mediocrity.
Don’t settle for mediocrity.
