“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”
We’ve all heard that one before.
But do we do it? Probably not.
Usually when things don’t turn out the way we’d hoped, we might give it another shot with a new, improved strategy. But when strategy #2 fails, we have a tendency to give up altogether. It just wasn’t meant to be, we tell ourselves.
But why not try again?
I mean, there are an infinite number of strategies to achieve an objective. Why stop at 2 or 3?
This reminds me of when Thomas Edison was asked about his repeated failures to invent the light bulb. He responded, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
That’s the spirit.
Try, try, try again. And if those plans don’t succeed, try something else!
