Ordinary.

It sounds so mundane. Conformist. Unexceptional. Kinda boring, really.

While life is full of so many ordinary things, one thing I’ll never settle for is an ordinary life.

Nah, I’m good.

As far as I know, I’ve got one shot at this thing. And I just so happened to get dropped into the land of opportunity, where I can be, do, and have whatever I intend.

Shi*****t, I’m not blowin’ this one.

Let’s be honest, we all wish to live exceptional lives.

But why do so many of us settle for ordinary when we can choose extraordinary?

Why do we willingly live our lives based on probabilities when we’re literally surrounded by things once thought improbable?

As Dr. Srini Pillay says on today’s episode of The Quote of The Day Show, an exceptional life is a life of low probability.

An exceptional life is not the norm.

Yet we want to fit in. To not stand out. To avoid disapproval and rejection from ordinary people by sitting on our extraordinary ideas. To be and feel completely out of alignment with our desire to be exceptional.

Wherever there is misalignment, we find frustration, anger, depression, and disease. The new normals. Ordinary things.

This is your life. Are you doing everything you can do with everything you were given?

Or are you choosing ordinary?
