There’s a new Post-It stuck to my computer screen.

Right there on the bottom left, next to the bulletin board material from the punk ass haters.

(Yes, I’m still taking it personal.)

This one reads …

What are you capable of?

A few weeks ago, while reading a truly life-changing book, I jumped out of bed, grabbed a Sharpie and a stickie, and married those words to my Mac. Right where I can see them. Every day. Darn near all day.

The book, Can’t Hurt Me, is written by David Goggins, a man who ran 100 miles in 24 hours with virtually no training, among many other jaw-dropping physical and mental feats.

For real. If you’re looking for something to light a fire under that ass, this book is the matches and the lighter fluid.

Goggins believes in something called the 40% rule — when your mind and body are starting to tire and you feel like giving up, you’re only at 40% of what you’re truly capable of.

It’s like we put governors on our minds. We have the ability and capacity to approach 100% of our potential, but our fears, stories, and insecurities slam the brakes when we get to 40 percent.

But we still have 60 percent more to go. More to give. Right there inside of us.

The most haunting thought one can ever have is getting to the end of your life and wondering what you were really capable of.

Like Ed Mylett said on episode 1217, you can meet your twin or a stranger.

I think about that episode all the time.

So, what are you capable of?

No … SERIOUSLY, what are you capable of?

Write it down. Stick it to your screen, your mirror, your steering wheel. Ask yourself that question every single day. Multiple times a day.

It will awaken something inside of you. The 60 percent that you’ve been sitting on. The side of yourself that excites and scares you at the same time.

The real you.

All of you.
