Never do this.

Back in the day, at the height of my holistic health career, popular influencers would often reach out and want to connect with me.

It would go something like this …

Them: Hey Sean, I’ve heard so many great things about you. Everyone says we should meet. Want to schedule a Skype call and make this happen?

Me: Likewise, popular influencer person. Yeah, I’m down. Let’s do it. Can’t wait!

A few days later, we’d have our Skype call, shoot the sh*t about our mutual friends, and get to know each other a bit.

I would think to myself, hey, I kinda like this person.

But then … like clockwork … at around 28 minutes into our 30-min call … it would happen.

Them: So, Sean. Listen, man. I’ve got a product launch coming up in a few weeks, and I would love your support. If you mail your list a promo email, your affiliate commission split will be …

Blah. Blah. Bleeping Blah.

Oh wait, so this wasn’t really a “we should meet and get to know each other” call; it was a backdoor sales pitch for promoting your product?

Oh, hellllllll no.

Like I said, never do this.

There’s a way to network and build relationships, and there’s a way to not network and build relationships. The above is a clear and all too common example of the latter. It’s transactional. Awkward. Inauthentic. Sneaky.

But did you know that there’s a very simple equation for effective networking? And if and when you follow it, you’ll build lasting relationships that feel good and are a win for all parties involved.

On today’s episode, Dr. George Frazier reveals this equation. It’s a must-listen if you’re struggling with networking.
