The people have spoken.

And when the people speak, you had better listen.

Especially if you’re an entrepreneur.

The way to destroy a business is to ignore your prospects, leads, and customers. To think you know what’s best for them. To make it all about you, when it’s really about THEM.

You have to be able to read the tea leaves. The writing on the wall. To not take the feedback personally and to be ready to pivot. Because adapt or die.

The past couple of Money Mind Academy (MMA) launches have been monumental flops. Just ghastly, I tell ya.

Enrollments went from triple digits in January to the low teens in June and September. Low enough to cancel both semesters.

Maybe we can chalk it up to our first “real” summer in two years. Maybe it’s the extra $175 families are spending per month due to gas prices and inflation. This morning’s horrific jobs report. Or maybe my presentations totally sucked.

Who knows?

Root causes aside, the reality is that people are no longer enrolling in the course. The feedback is clear. The people have spoken.

Honestly, marketing and selling Money Mind Academy has always been a conundrum. Reminding people that they’re deep in debt with no savings or emergency fund, and then asking them for $997 has always been a bit weird.

Over the past few years, I’ve witnessed 3 other money mindset courses and brands go under. So I kinda knew my days were numbered. And now that day has come. MMA is currently pushing up daisies. Six feet under. No longer with us.

The moral of the story, as Eric Thomas points out on today’s episode, is that you have to be able to accept the feedback and adapt accordingly. If not, your business will die.

If you’re trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, trying to create a desire where there isn’t any, you’re done. You have to be able to see the storm coming and make the necessary preparations.

The truth is, I’ve had a fully rebranded website, messaging, free offer, and online course ready to roll since June. In the next week or so, we’ll flip the switch and turn on a brand new brand.

Nothing will change with the podcast. But if you’re a coach or course creator who’s enrolled in all of the popular online marketing courses and you’re still struggling with growing your business, you’re in for a real treat.

Adapt or die.

Onward.
