What did they do?

THAT is the question that separates the top ten percent from the rest.

Maybe a dozen years ago, I stumbled upon this concept in Tony Robbins’ excellent book, Awaken the Giant Within.

He called it modeling.

Simply put, you identify someone who has achieved the kind of success you want to have. You find out exactly what they did to create it. And then you do what they did.

Easy peasy.

You see, for every effect there is a cause. For every result there is a way of thinking and doing that produced it.

While all of our paths will be unique, there’s no need to completely reinvent the wheel.

Find someone to model. Learn their story. Read their books and biographies. Listen to their interviews. Find a list of their favorite books.

Use their experience as a guide for your own.

And do what they did.

On today’s Finance Friday episode of the podcast, Brian Tracy keeps this topic going, as he breaks down the Iron Law of Cause and Effect. When you do what successful people do, consistently, there’s no way YOU cannot become successful.
