I was listening to Wayne Dyer last week.

He was talking about the movie, The Secret, and why, after being invited to be a part of it, he politely declined.

He said this …

“Manifesting is not about attracting what you want. Manifesting is an awareness and an understanding that you attract what you are.”

You attract what you are.

Recall that the creative process is be, do, have. Not wish, do, have. Not hope, do, have.

BE, do, have.

Who we are being is a composite of what we believe (about the world and ourselves), how we think and feel, and what we expect.

One of the universe’s favorite things to do is play The Match Game. What it delivers is always a match for our inner fabric of beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and expectations.

Be negative and you’ll get a bunch of negativity in your life. Match.

Expect things to go wrong and they will. Match.

Believe you’re not worthy of life’s good and you’ll never have it. Match.

This is why there are so many people wondering why the Law of Attraction hasn’t worked for them. Because The Secret, while still a very powerful movie, didn’t do the best job of explaining how the law really works.

What results are you getting? How do they correlate with what you believe, think, feel, and expect? When you get honest with yourself, do your results match who you have been?

Just the smallest shift in your being can have an immense effect on your results. Make it a daily practice to expect good things to happen. Notice negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones. When you’re feeling down, pull up an image of something that makes you smile.

Practice being just a little better than you’ve been, and life will be a lot better to you. It’s the law.

On today’s episode of the podcast, Jim Rohn’s mentor, Earl Shoaff, dives even deeper into this topic. Enjoy!
