Yeah, it’s that time of year again when so many of us go all out on our personal and professional goals, only to completely forget about them by Valentine’s Day.
But why?
Seriously, why is it that we get New Year’s Resolution amnesia so darn quickly?
Well, the answer to that question is multi-factorial. But in my opinion, these are the two biggest reasons:
1. We have no one to be accountable to.
2. We try to do it all by ourselves.
I used to have a bad case of the latter. When it came to building my business, I felt like I needed to learn and master EVERYTHING — graphic design, podcast editing, copy writing, social media, on and on.
But it doesn’t work that way. I mean, at the rate I was going my biz would just barely be getting off the ground … almost TEN years later. I needed help.
Plus, for maybe the first two years or so, I had no one to be accountable to. No long-term coaches. No trainers. No one to kick me in the butt when I got off track. No one to help me overcome the obstacles when I faced them.
I mean, think about it. If you’ve set a weight loss goal for 2017, how much more likely are you to achieve your goal if you have a trainer or accountability partner to keep you on track?
If you’ve set a professional/business goal, how much unnecessary frustration could you steer clear of if you had a coach who had already been through the same struggles and knew how to anticipate and navigate them?
Today on The Quote of The Day Show, the great Napoleon Hill shares these words of wisdom for anyone hoping to crush their 2017 goals:
“In Every Instance Where You Find a Man (Or Woman) of Outstanding Achievement in Any Calling, You Will Find that He has Been a Success as a Result of a Mastermind Alliance.”
Masterminds. You may have heard me talk about them before on the podcast. In my opinion, they are the most game-changing ingredient in expediting your success, not just in entrepreneurship, but like Mr. Hill said, “in any calling.”
Instead of doing it alone, you’ll join forces with a group of like-minded people on a similar mission.
Instead of being accountable only to yourself, you’ll have your fellow masterminders to answer to.
Instead of celebrating your successes alone, you’ll have your own cheerleading team.
That’s how masterminds work. Get one!
